• Agrelo Estate

Located in the Agrelo district, Luján de Cuyo, the state has 240 hectares of vineyards with the following varieties of grapes: Malbec, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Semillón.

The vineyard is located at an altitude ranging from 980 m in the lowest point of the state up to 1079 m in the highest point. This difference in altitude provides a temperature range of about 2°C in the minimum temperatures; that is why we obtain a variation in the grape’s aromatic qualities at the time of harvest, which allows us to obtain wines that are very rich in aromas.

The plantation density is 6,000 plants per hectare, which makes the productivity easier to manage, achieving a higher quality. The average yield is 1.5 kg per vine.

Temperatures vary throughout the entire cycle from 35°C in the hottest days to -5°C in the coldest mornings. The temperature range of the area is ideal to obtain the desired quality of the grape.

    The Soil

The Agrelo estate’s soil has many combinations of textures, given the extension of the property, which provides different aromas and characteristics to the grapes which will be found later in our wines.

In most of the land the soil is made up of 60% of rocks with an average diameter of 10 cm, 15% of sand and 25% of clay and lime.

This combination of medium sized rocks, sand and lime turns the Agrelo estate into a soil suitable for grape growing. Therefore, we have located the Malbec grapevines in the rockiest areas and where there is a greater temperature range, the Syrah vines in the soils with a higher proportion of lime and clay and where rocks are deeper down, and the Cabernet Franc variety at intermediate areas.
