Mendoza Regions
  • Eastern Region

    Altitude: 600 to 750 m (2,000 to 2,500 feet)

Main zones: Rivadavia, Junín, San Martín, Pedemonte.

Traditionally this was the main winegrowing region in Mendoza.

The sub-regions of Junín, Rivadavia, San Martín and Santa Rosa, irrigated by the Tunuyán river, host some of the country’s oldest vineyards.

Grape varieties such as Bonarda and Syrah are the most common in the Eastern Region. They produce juicy ripe flavors, with high concentration and color.
