We have expanded our collection with a pair of new wines unveiled to trade by our Head Winemaker Silvia Corti at an event in Rochelle Canteen, attended by leading lights from the UK’s restaurant scene.

This spring marks the introduction of two new Argento wines, now available to the on-trade in UK. The Argento Reserve Organic Malbec is the first fully-organically produced Argento wine in the UK market; and the only organic wine from Argentina that Bibendum carries in their portfolio. The Esquinas de Argento Pinot Grigio 2016 Cool Climate Selection joins the popular and contemporary Esquinas de Argento Malbec. Silvia Corti, head winemaker, was in the UK on 31st May to present these wines to the UK trade.

Bodega Argento’s wines are distributed in the UK by Bibendum Wine exclusively to the on-trade and appear on the lists of restaurants including leading London venues: Ceviche, Andina, Casita Andina, Bone Daddies, Flesh & Buns, Coya, Cabana and Harry’s Bar, amongst others.

The new wines showcase our commitment to sustainability: Argento Reserve Organic Malbec is the first of our organic wines in the UK market. Already certified to produce organic wine, our aim is to gain organic certification for all the five vineyards that we own.

We also mark the expansion of the popular Esquinas range, with the Esquinas de Argento Pinot Grigio 2016 Cool Climate Selection added to complement the Esquinas de Argento Malbec.

Bodega Argento Reserve Organic Malbec 2014

Made with 100% Malbec from Bodega Argento’s entirely organic plot in Altamira, Uco Valley, this wine is the first step on the road to full sustainability. Organic production not only ensures that winemaking activity is sustainable, but also allows the winemaker to conserve more of the fruit’s essence in the wine.

Esquinas de Argento Pinot Grigio 2016 Cool Climate Selection

“Esquinas” is the urban wine brand that celebrates life in the city of Buenos Aires and the lively esquinas (corners) in its meandering streets that give the city its captivating energy. This new Pinot Grigio expression, the white counterpart to the Esquinas de Argento Malbec, has arrived just in time to celebrate the summer in Europe, with delicate floral and refreshing fruit flavours.

The Esquinas de Argento Pinot Grigio Col Climate Selection will be listed in Picturehouse cinemas, joining the Esquinas de Argento Malbec as its white partner from 12th June. It is also listed at exclusive restaurant Mnky Hse, serving Latin-American cuisine in Mayfair.

Both wines were launched to the UK trade on Thursday 31st May, in a celebration at Rochelle Canteen. At an evening hosted by Silvia Corti herself, guests had the chance to try the wines for the first time, paired with a vibrant spring banquet by prestigious chef Margot Henderson including fresh asparagus spears and creamy hollandaise, seasonal Jersey Royals, roast beef sirloin and rabbit rillettes. The dishes were crafted by Arnold & Henderson catering, who have catered for the likes of Alexander McQueen, Zaha Hadid and Marc Jacobs.

After the event, Silvia Corti commented: “Rochelle Canteen proved the perfect setting to present these wines, with the fresh locally grown produce complementing the purity of fruit. It’s always a pleasure to be in the UK and see how well-received our wines are in this key market.”
