September 7, 2015
Labor Day is a holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September. From a historical perspective it is a celebration of the American labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of workers and constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country. Parades and other social gathers are held to mark this day.
The form for the celebration of Labor Day has evolved over the years, and now this holiday often marks the end of the traditional summer season (although summer doesn’t officially end until September 21st), as students normally returned to school the following week. As a solute to the end of summer, many people host parties and barbecues at their homes signifying the end of warm weather and outdoor BBQ (and also the wearing of white pants). Bodega Argento has joined Americans on Labor Day celebration.
Food and Wine recommendation
What will you be serving for Labor Day celebration? Our lightly oaked Argento Reserva Chardonnay is crisp and refreshing… a great accompaniment to salads, fish and grilled chicken. Or, you should try our Malbec with your slow roasted brisket, hamburgers or pulled pork! Or…even better, cheer with a grilled beef and pair it with our oaked Reserva Malbec (trust us, nobody knows beef like Argentineans).
The Argento Reserva Chardonnay was the featured wine on the OK! TV show where Michelle Yarn (Lifestyle Expert) presented it as the white wine option to pair with Labor Day party, watch the video here.
In addition, Fred Tasker from Miami Herald has surprised us with this fantastic recommendation:
“For salty snacks, from potato chips to mixed nuts, I like chilled 2014 Argento Pinot Grigio, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina (100 percent pinot grigio): light and crisp and lean, with aromas and flavors of white peaches and minerals.” Read the entire article here.
Enjoy the end of summer! Have a great #LaborDay and Salud!
