Argento Selección Malbec 2012 has been awarded a prestigious GOLD MEDAL at the 2014 Sommelier Wine Awards. Argento Selección Malbec 2012 was also one of just 8 wines included on the exclusive “By the Glass” list.

“A plentiful supply of spicy, juicy dark fruits and morello cherry won both our judges’ hearts and a spot on the By The Glass list. Still youthful, the toasty oak and grippy, smooth tannins alongside a meaty finish make this a classic Malbec, while the lighter touch means that it doesn’t have to partner steak to be at its best.”

The ‘By the Glass’ award goes to the most well-priced and versatile wines on the Gold List, as selected by a panel of top sommelier tasters: wines that are great on their own, but will also put in a good performance with a wide range of dishes. ‘By the Glass wines have to sell on their name,’ explained Hakkasan’s Christine Parkinson. ‘You have to be able to drink them on their own or with food, and they have to have immediate appeal and a good price.’
